It’s happening. Twitter is finally taking away its coveted blue ticks for people who got themOn Thursday, the social media company announced on its official Twitter Verified account that it would start ‘winding down’ its legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks on April 1st.

The announcement comes as no surprise as scrapping people’s blue ticks for paid ones was one of the first changes that Elon Musk announced after he bought the company last year for $44 billion.that would come with a verified blue check mark. Shortly after Twitter Blue was launched, Musk said that the company was removing the legacy verification checkmarks as far too many ‘corrupt’ ones existed.
