Two men have been arrested for public order incidents following a national demonstration for Palestine in Dublin yesterday.
Gardaí confirmed two men were charged with public order incidents yesterday and will appear in court at a later date.in Dublin's city centre, which saw thousands march from Parnell Street to St Stephen's Green.After the demonstration concluded at St Stephen’s Green, some continued protesting on Grafton Street, where it is understood the arrests happened.
Some protestors went to Irishtown Garda Station, where the two men were in custody, demanding their release.new crackdown on Palestine Solidarity activism”. “Today was a clear demonstration of Garda bias and an affront to civil liberty, especially the right to assemble,” a statement said.This was the fourth National Demonstration for Palestine like this since October and took over an hour to pass O'Connell Street.
Among the groups represented are Gaza Action Ireland, Academics for Palestine, and Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign . SIPTU, Forsa, Irish Artists for Palestine and student unions across Ireland also took part in the march.
