Two people have been killed in separate road traffic collisions in Co Louth and Co Limerick.
A male pedestrian died after a collision involving two cars in Castletroy, Co Limerick. The crash, involving two cars and the pedestrian, happened yesterday at around 9.50pm on the Dublin Road.The pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead.
Dublin Road from the junction of the Groody Roundabout through to the junction of the Golf Links Road, is closed. Local diversions are in place. The crash happened at around 2am on the M1 Northbound between Junctions 12 and 14 at Mooremont. A male passenger of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
