Gardaí investigating incidents in which pedestrian and motorcyclist were killed
A pedestrian and a motorcyclist have died in separate traffic incidents in Co Westmeath and Co Kilkenny.The incident happened at 12.30am on the N4 close to Mullingar. The man’s body was removed to the Midlands RegionalThe driver of the car received minor injuries and was also treated in hospital. The N4 was closed between J17 Mullingar West and Lough Owen, according to AA Roadwatch.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist in his 20s died after he was involved in a collision with a truck on the N78 at Clashduff, Co. Kilkenny at about 11am. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to St Luke’s General Hospital for a a postmortem.
