Two Indian students, Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri, who were killed in a single-vehicle accident in Carlow, Ireland, will be repatriated to India on Friday. The crash also injured two other passengers. A GoFundMe campaign has raised over €66,000 to support the families.
Two friends killed in a single vehicle accident last week will begin their final journey home to India on Friday.
Two other passengers, a man and a woman, also aged in their 20s, were taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny for initial treatment. The female passenger was transferred to University Hospital Waterford with serious but non-life threatening injuries and remains in a stable condition. The male passenger suffered minor injuries.
In an online post, organiser Venkat Vuppala said: “We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri. It is with great sorrow that we announce the tragic car accident on January 31st at Carlow, that claimed the lives of these two Indian students from SETU Carlow.”
A member of the public who offered their sympathies on the rip.ie website said that they remembered Mr Cherukuri as “always pleasant a smile”, while another mourner added: “Bargo will be missed and remembered fondly. Bargo you had the kindest heart and our girls always say you had the biggest smile. Rest easy our friend.”
