BREAKING: James Witham and Joseph Peers have been charged with the murder of council worker Ashley Dale after she was found dead with a gunshot wound in her back garden.
James Witham, 40, and Joseph Peers, 28, have been charged with the murder of the environmental health officer, Merseyside Police said today.
Ms Dale was treated by emergency services after police received reports of concern for a woman at a property along Leinster Road just after midnight. Despite the best efforts by paramedics, the Knowsley Council worker died a short time later in the hospital.Police added that a 25-year-old man from St Helens has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.All three men have previously been arrested as part of the investigation, bringing the total to 15.
‘Her loving, kind and articulate nature showed through with the number of friends she had,’ they added. ‘We couldn’t have been more proud of Ashley. A huge hole has been left, life will never be the same again.’
