Two people were taken to hospital for treatment following a fire at the Obel Tower in Belfast, according to the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service

In a statement released this morning, the NIFRS said that they were called to reports of a fire at the tower on Donegall Quay in the city at 6.20am.

The Fire Service said that"six fire appliances, an aerial appliance and a command support unit, 42 firefighters and five officers were in attendance". It said that two people were helped to safety and that they were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
