Two other teenagers have been treated in hospital for injuries as well.
A 14-year-old boy and girl died on Easter Monday after the car they were in hit a tree in Glennagarraun, Headford.
There were four people in the car and the teenage boy was pronounced dead at the scene; the other three were taken to University Hospital Galway, where the girl was pronounced dead.“There’s a dark cloud over the whole area,” Cllr Andrew Reddington said. “For example, the main school there in Headford, Presentation College, all these kids would have been in that school and would have known each other and would have been friends.
“I want to take this opportunity to say to the families that we’re all thinking of you and we’re very sorry for the loss of their children and, indeed, the community will rally behind you.”An Garda Síochána has appealed for witnesses of the collision to contact them.
