UC Berkeley students voted to pass the initiative that would fund the independent student-run newspaper for another five years.

UC Berkeley's student body has until midnight Wednesday to vote on extending funding for the Daily Cal which would determine the fate of the student-run newspaper.

Daily Cal, the independent newspaper run by UC Berkeley students, has secured another five years of funding. on the Save the Daily Cal Initiative, which would extend funding for the newspaper until the summer of 2027.for the initiative and the Associated Student UC Berkeley election were announced Friday evening.
