UEFA confirms that this week's Champions League quarter-final matches will go ahead as scheduled, despite a terrorist threat from ISIS. The threat includes all four stadiums hosting the matches, including Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu.

UEFA insists this week’s Champions League quarter-final matches will go ahead as planned despite an Islamic State terror threat.

Wednesday night's games see Borussia Dortmund travel to face Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital, while PSG host Barcelona in Paris. “UEFA is aware of alleged terrorist threats made towards this week’s UEFA Champions League matches and is closely liaising with the authorities at the respective venues,” the statement said. The threat comes less than three weeks after Islamic State attacked the Crocus City Concert Hall in Moscow on March 22, when armed men stormed the building and fired guns at the audience. Some 143 people died and around 200 were injured.

Spanish authorities says that “in terms of preventing the terrorist threat, the State Security Forces and Bodies have activated all their early warning and protection systems, as well as all their response mechanisms ready and willing.”
