UFC President Dana White cancels another massive fight as he reveals Khamzat Chimaev is ‘violently ill’ in hospital
Undefeated Japanese flyweight Tatsuro Taira improved his perfect record to 16-0 with a second-round TKO win over Alex Perez at theTaira jumped on the former title challenger’s back and immediately began trying to lock up a rear-naked choke, but he soon gave up on his submission attempt.
The 32-year-old let out an anguished scream as he fell to the mat before tapping out and immediately grasping at his knee in agony.Eventually, he was able to hobble out of the cage and make his way to a stretcher which carried him backstage to be properly assessed. Khamzat Chimaev was supposed to face Robert Whittaker, but the Russian fighter was replaced by Ikram Aliskerov because he wasof followers on social media, explaining it was not a decision made lightly after consulting his doctors, the UFC and his wider team.
