The heat is on!
Conditions are set to improve after this weekend when temperatures will finally start nudging 20C thanks to a high-pressure ridge. It is expected to hang around for three whole weeks and will give sun lovers the chance to spend more time outdoors and flock to beaches.
Discussing conditions from the end of May and into the first two weeks of June, reports the Mirror, the forecast said: "High pressure is likely to continue to dominate UK weather during this period, though with the focus of the high gradually shifting north with time. These settled conditions are most likely to hold on in central and northern parts of the UK, while towards the south there is a higher risk of rain and showers, particularly towards the southeast.
While such a scenario may be unprecedented, experts agree it is not impossible, given recent warming climate trends.
