A British woman was left gobsmacked after sampling McDonald's in Spain for the first time, stumbling upon a menu item she reckons the fast-food giant "needs" to bring over to the UK.
But some are keener on sizing up how global fast-food joints stack up abroad compared to back home. That's exactly what Millie Stennett , a Brit who found herself in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, fancied doing - so she tried out the local McDonald's. The UK native was taken aback by the sight of food missing from the McDonald's across the pond, like Spain's crowd-pleaser cheese and bacon loaded fries. "They also have potato wedges. They have better sauce options as well," she noted, eyeing up the spread of eats on offer.
However, her experience hit a snag when she ordered a Fanta and found out that straws were off the menu: "I got a Fanta, but they don't have straws. They've got this lid. To be honest, I prefer the straw because that is dry as hell," Millie remarked following her first gulp.
