Ulster Rugby welcomes back James Hume, Jacob Stockdale, and Stuart McCloskey for their friendly match against the Queensland Reds.
Ulster Rugby is set to welcome back a trio of experienced players for their friendly match against Super Rugby side Queensland Reds at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday. James Hume , Jacob Stockdale , and Stuart McCloskey, all recovering from injuries, have been named in the starting lineup for the match.
Hume returns following a successful rehabilitation from an ACL injury sustained last season, while Stockdale makes his comeback after being sidelined since Ireland's Autumn international against Fiji. McCloskey, on the other hand, has been absent from the field since December's Champions Cup clash against Bordeaux. The starting XV for Friday's encounter blends seasoned professionals with exciting young talent. 23-year-old Conor McKee, who has been making waves for Ballynahinch in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League, will start at scrum-half, partnered by Aidan Morgan at fly-half. Completing the back three alongside Stockdale are Ireland Sevens star Zac Ward on the right wing and Jake Flannery at full-back. Ulster head coach Richie Murphy has named a strong bench, packed with experienced players capable of influencing the game. Among the replacements are James McCormick, Eric O'Sullivan, Bryan O'Connor, Harry Sheridan, Tom Brigg, David Shanahan, James Humphreys, Wilhelm De Klerk, Jacob Boyd, Reuben Crothers, Michael Lowry, Ben Carson, Jude Postlethwaite, Stewart Moore, Michael McDonald, and Kieran Treadwell
