UN inquiry accuses Israel of crime of 'extermination' in destruction of Gaza health system
Inquiry headed by ex-UN human rights commissioner calls Israel’s attacks on health ‘relentless and deliberate’
“Children in particular have borne the brunt of these attacks, suffering both directly and indirectly from the collapse of the health system,” said Ms Pillay, whose report will be presented to the UN General Assembly on October 30th. The statement said the treatment of both Palestinian detainees in Israel and hostages seized by Hamas fighters in the October 7th attack had been investigated and it accused both sides of involvement in torture and sexual violence.
