Corrie actor Sam Aston won over the hearts of the nation before he turned up in Weatherfield
The character first entered the soap when big sister Fiz found out their mum Cilla had left the boy home alone when she came to live with boyfriend Les Battersby. Since then Chesney has been at the centre of some dramatic storylines, including a series of turbulent relationships.
Before he first graced the cobbles a huge 20 years ago, Sam was the star of an iconic Warburton's advert. In the ad, Sam plays a bored young boy whose mum has been baking.He asks her: "What've you made Mum?" before she replies: "A seeded batch loaf". After seeing he looks less than impressed, the mum has an idea.
The advert was well-received at the time, with audiences finding Sam's character adorable. Sam previously told OK! magazine that while he may be best known as Chesney, plenty of people still remember the ad. He also said the first acting job he can "really remember" was an advert for George at Asda. Sam continued: "I only had one line in that, I just stood behind a wall.
"It was for kids clothing, back to school, and somebody was doing kick ups. Then the audio said 'and the real difference is' and I just pop out and go 'who likes it!', that was my first role".Win your dream UK staycation with Hyatt
