It was a scary scene as sparks flew off of a large jet that had to return to Newark's airport early on Thursday.
A United Airlines flight to São Paulo, Brazil was reportedly forced to return to Newark-Liberty International Airport early on Thursday morning due to a problem.A video of the plane showed what appeared to be sparks coming off of the plane.
It also showed what appeared to be debris falling off of the plane. An image on Twitter showed what was believed to be a small piece of metal from the plane laying on the ground.FOX 5 News has requested information from the airline and the Federal Aviation Administration. This story will be updated when they respond.
