GeneralElection2020: United Ireland preparations are Sinn Fein's price for coalition GE2020
Sinn Fein will withhold support for a coalition government after the 2020 general election without a commitment to immediately start planning for a referendum on the unification of Ireland, leader Mary Lou McDonald has said.
Sinn Fein says it is willing to form a coalition with either party and that it offers the only viable alternative to another minority government. "Of course for us that is a core issue, I cannot see a situation in which Sinn Fein would be in government without that work being undertaken," the Sinn Fein President told a news conference on Tuesday.
