Matt Williams: Ross Byrne rising to Leinster challenge could help Ireland hit heights in South AfricaThe Irish international and Six Nations winner becomes the seventh player to reach the milestone for the club, joining his team-mates Denis Buckley, Tiernan O’Halloran and Jack Carty, and former players John Muldoon, Michael Swift and Kieran Marmion.
Hooker Dave Heffernan captains the side while Jordan Duggan lines out as loosehead. Locks Niall Murray and Joe Joyce are paired together, while a reshuffled backrow sees Shamus Hurley-Langton move to blindside flanker, Conor Oliver coming in at openside and Seán O’Brien starting at number eight.in the centre. In the back three there’s a return to the starting team for John Porch, while Andrew Smith is on the opposite wing.
Simon Zebo moves to fullback with Nash and Daly starting on either wing. Alex Nankivell and Antoine Frisch continue their centre partnership with Murray and Jack Crowley in the halfbacks. Jeremy Loughman, Niall Scannell and Stephen Archer start in an unchanged frontrow, with Snyman and captain Tadhg Beirne paired together in the engine room for the first time.
