Irish holidaymakers are being warned to prepare for yet more travel chaos across Europe with a number of strikes planned across multiple transport services.
Security personnel based at Heathrow Terminal Three will join their colleagues from Terminal Five and campus security on the picket line.Strikes are also set to take place on July 14, 16, 21 to 24 and 28 until 31. SPAIN The top destination visited by Irish tourists in summer, however The Spanish Union of Airline Pilots is calling for strikes against Air Europa which is expected to happen sometime between June 19 and July 2.
Experts at Peopl Insurance , a nationwide provider of travel insurance, are also advising those travelling overseas this summer to check and understand the conditions and limitations of their travel insurance policies around industrial action, civil unrest, extreme weather events and lengthy airport security queues.
"But other travel insurers don’t cover strikes and with some policies, the cover is more restricted than others. So, it is very important to check the small print of a travel insurance policy before you buy.”
