President-elect Donald Trump has promised to impose new tariffs on a number of countries on his first day in office as part of his efforts to curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The tariffs could significantly increase prices on various goods coming into the US.
US President-elect Donald Trump , in a pair of posts on his Truth Social site Monday evening, has threatened to introduce new tariffs on several countries as one of his executive orders on his first day in office. These tariffs could dramatically raise prices on everything from gas to automobiles.
Trump plans to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States, and China an additional 10% tariff, as part of his efforts to curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking. He made these threats despite current southern border crossings being at a four-year low and violence crime going down from pandemic highs
