US Soccer investigating after men’s coach reveals domestic violence involving now-wife because someone said they had information that would ‘take him down’
U.S. Soccer announced it has opened a “full technical review” of the men’s national team program.
The announcement comes after Gregg Berhalter, who led the U.S. at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, released his own statement on social media regarding an incident that took place in 1991 with his longtime partner, Rosalind, on the heels of an individual contacting U.S. Soccer with information that would “take him down.”“One night, while out drinking at a local bar, Rosalind and I had a heated argument that continued outside.
Berhalter said he and Rosalind resumed their relationship after she reached out to him seven months after the incident. They have since had four kids and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
