Members of the Garda Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Naas when they stopped the van driver
A motorist in Co Kildare is due in court after they were found flouting a litany of road safety rules.
Gardaí attached to the Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol on Tuesday when they stopped a motorist travelling in a black van. After putting the vehicle's details through the garda's Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, which uses optical character recognition technology to automatically read vehicle registration plates, it was discovered that the van was untaxed for ten years and had no insurance or a CVRT, a legally required test for all commercial vehicles in Ireland.
Gardai shared a picture of the seized van on X and wrote: "Naas Gardaí were on patrol when they stopped this van. It was found that it was untaxed for ten years and had no insurance or a CVRT."They were arrested and the van was seized. Court to follow."
