Lightning struck twice when VAR played it's part as we hope to seal qualification for Euro 2028.
VAR has reared its ugly head again for Scotland and some are at a loss for words during the Norway vs Spain game.
We're all just about over the confusing and frankly demoralising scenes that developed in Seville on Thursday night that saw Scott McTominay's stunning free-kick ruled out for an offside, albeit it appeared to be a foul on the keeper in the first instance. It sparked widespread angst among fans, pundits and players alike with referee Serdar Gozubuyuk the subject of the SFA writing to UEFA to ask for clarification on the haphazardness of it all.
And while everyone across Scotland is roaring Vamos España on Sunday night, Alvaro Morata looked to have put us one step closer to confirming our dream with a strike on twenty minutes. Yet the goal was ruled out for a seemingly offside manoeuvre, despite the referee heading for the monitor which is rare when the case to be discussed is offside. There was a collision between Ferran Torres, who was shown to be onside, and Norwegian keeper Nyland before Morata tapped in.
It had shades of Thursday night's antics with pundit Michael Stewart somewhat confused over the call. UEFA's official match coverage seemed to have the story straight this time, with an offside being the decision for Morata who tapped the ball in after a deflection from the Norway defender was to send the ball in anyway.
The Atletico Madrid forward was adjudged to have been off as the initial ball was played in, and his offside comes as a second phase of play. It's another one that comes majorly under the spotlight.
