Taoiseach and former Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar thanked his party during his final speech at the Fine Gael Ard Fheis at the University of Galway
He made a speech to party delegates at the Fine Gael Ard Fheis at the University of Galway on Saturday evening as he prepares to leave the Taoiseach’s office.
Addressing the party faithful, Mr Varadkar thanked them for their support as he called on them to back the new leader. “Proud of the state we founded and defended. Proud of the republic we declared. Proud that we ensured that Ireland took its place among the nations of the world in Europe and the UN. Proud of the economic and social progress this country has made under our care.”
“Not because we want to make history but because it is the right thing for our country and our people.”
