Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has directed the security agencies to arrest the owner of a filling station involved in illegal oil bunkering in Port Harcourt.
Recall that security operatives had sealed the Mega Tool Filling Station in Ojoto Street, Mile 2, in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt. The station is owned by a member of the House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, Dr Chinyere Igwe.
The statement partly read, “If I hear of any filling station involved in oil bunkering, I will close that filling station. Therefore, I have directed the security agencies to identify who has that filling station in Diobu, arrest that person and we are going to prosecute the person.“We cannot allow oil bunkering. We will reduce it to the barest minimum. So, I have ordered the security agencies to identify who owns that filling station that was sealed up two days ago and arrest the owner.
When our correspondent inquired about the current state of his fuel station, and the allegation, Igwe said, “Go there and ask, the place is there, fortunately, it is under lock and key, I cannot have access to it, people cannot have access to it. They have seized it While performing the flag-off of the roads, Jang, noted the unprecedented infrastructural contributions of the governor. He claimed that Wike had changed the landscape of the state, but lamented the mismanagement of the nation’s economy.
