This years Olympics opening ceremony took place on the River Seine, where Olympians paraded by boat down the river for the Parade of Nations- However, viewers were unimpressed
The 2024 Olympics officially kicked off on Friday, July 26, with an opening ceremony of a totally different magnitude than we've ever seen before.
The boats floating on the River Seine allowed for incredible Parisian scenes as they passed storied landmarks on their journey to the end of the Parade of Nations at the Trocadero, with an Olympic-rings-adorned Eiffel Tower serving as the backdrop.
Some were quick to realise that it was in fact occurring in alphabetical order, just in French, but others were totally confused. The superstar closed the ceremony from the first stage of the French landmark, singing Edith Piaf’s "L’Hymne A L’Amour" and had fans raving about her incredible performance.
