Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews will be attempting to run 30 marathons in 30 days in the desert to raise money for charity and in a bid to have a Guinness World Record
Spencer Matthews was just 10 years old when his elder brother, Michael, lost his life on Mount Everest having become the youngest Brit ever to make the summit.

"I looked up to Michael enormously. I grew up appreciating his adventurous spirit, it kind of lived on through me and I feel quite close to him when I put myself in sporting situations.
"My wife initially thought I was mad and found the whole thing to sound extremely dangerous," he confesses. "But Vogue understands my desire to push myself. If I said I was going to go off for 30 days every year she might be a bit peeved. If we succeed and raise a lot of money for great causes she'd obviously support that effort."
He will be flanked by a doctor, a physio and a nutritionist plus the running coach who previously got Spencer's pal Josh Patterson through 76 marathons in 76 days. "I don't like to consider failure as an option. I feel my fitness levels are great and am looking forward to giving it my all," he declares. "We're not going into this blind, we are as prepared as we can be, both physically and scientifically. Unless we have all our ducks in a row we won't succeed but we're giving ourselves the best possible chance."
Along with his team, he'll aim to set off each day at around 3-4am, when the temperature is expected to be around 28degrees rather than 45degrees in the midday sun. No day can be skipped because the rules state he needs to complete the 30 marathons on consecutive days. The strict regulations also state that Spencer must run on sand at all times. He has got permission to cross three roads but the seconds spent on the tarmac must be wiped from the clock.
He says a desire to raise a huge amount was behind his decision to pick a task so tough it could yet prove to be impossible. "The more arduous the challenge the more people might feel they can donate," he says. "Also I'm keen to test how far my body and mind can go."
