The care home has been subject of a scathing report

A Leyland care home remains in special measures after managers lied to inspectors and falsely insisted changes had been made.

The inspection in August followed the previous visit, in March of this year, when the care home was put in special measures. The home provides care for up to 26 people and is run by Blackpool-based Axel Bond Care Limited which manages three care homes in Lancashire. As part of the inspection managers at the care home told the CQC that various improvements had been made.

"We reviewed three accident records and found no details of any action to be taken was included in handover records and people's specific risk assessments had not been updated. At the last inspection we found toiletries in communal bathrooms. "Following the last inspection, we had been told further staff had been deployed to cover the night shift and additional management support had been provided to support the manager address all identified concerns. We found this was not the case at this inspection.
