Director Merlin Crossingham said: “We explained it’s not rude or an expletive, just a fairly innocent turn of phrase. They said that’s fine.” Chief Insp Mackintosh, voiced by comedian Peter Kay, shouts the expression as jewel thief Feathers McGraw escapes. And, just like 1993’s The Wrong Trousers, Gromit takes on the dastardly Feathers. Creator Nick Park said they went a “bit mad with the puns”.
