Hang in there warm weather fans! A mention of possible spring snow this week in Chicago but then a warmer pattern should settle in.
The transition from the end of winter to the start of spring can be trying for warm weather fans in Chicago. This year has been no exception. January and February both came in below average. January was nearly 5 degrees below average for the month while February was 1.4 degrees below average. March was milder than average coming in just under 2 degrees above average for the month.
The last tend days though have been headed in the wrong direction. Nine of the past ten days have been below average. Five of the past ten days have seen a trace of snow or more at O'Hare. There is hope though as we look longer range that Chicago may be turning a corner towards a milder pattern for the middle of the month.has most of us near normal. This covers the period from this upcoming Saturday through the following Wednesday.
A more substantial warm up may be coming starting a week from Monday. The period from April 11th through the 17th starts a week from this Monday and continues through that following weekend. Thehas us "likely above" average during this stretch. Average highs climb to 60 degrees by the 17th. We have to endure another week of cool to even cold weather, at least for this time of the year, before the pattern shifts in favor of warmer weather.keeps us around or just above average through Wednesday and then has our highs fall back into the 40s for both Friday and Saturday. There is even a chance for some light snow showers at times for Friday. If we make it through this week our patience should pay off.
