Warning as two boys 'approached by man in black cab who offered them a lift to school'
Police have launched an investigation after reports two schoolboys were approached by a man in a black cab who offered to give them a lift.
The boys refused and the man drove away, GMP said. No attempts where made to take the children - in what police have assured is thought to have been an isolated incident.Police have described the driver as an Asian man in his late forties, who is balding with a black beard. He was driving a silver-coloured Hackney cab style vehicle.
In a bid to reassure local residents, the force have stepped up patrols in the area and a uniformed presence will remain over the coming days.
