Last year, it was confirmed an additional bank holiday would be added to the month of February.
While the first day of February falls on a Wednesday this year, the new bank holiday will take place on Monday, 6 February. Going forward, if St Brigid's Day happens to fall on a Friday, that day will instead become a public holiday, instead of the first Monday of the month.
