Two fraudsters are targeting ATM machines in Watford with an increasingly common scam, police have warned.

The pair apparently follow a formula in which they wait until the victim has inserted their bank card before the first male engages them in conversation and claims the machine is broken. Meanwhile the second fraudster will cancel the transaction and remove the victim's bank card, which is later used in fraud.

The Herts Police Cyber and Fraud department issued the warning yesterday following a recent rise in incidents in Watford and St Albans.
