The process of getting an international driving permit will be changing from next month
If you're planning to drive abroad from next month, you may need to be aware of a rule change affecting international driving permits .
You don't usually need an IDP for most holiday destinations, but there are over 140 countries where they are either necessary or recommended. Countries include Turkey, Mexico, Canada and Australia.READ MORE: Drivers set to save £50 on fuel as duty cut extended in Spring Budget If you're travelling before April 1 and need an IDP, you need to go to a Post Office that offers the service. But if you're travelling after this date, you'll need to visit a PayPoint store. The gov.uk website will provide a list of PayPoint stores where the service will be available when the change comes into force.
