Passengers are being advised to claim a refund, seek alternative transport, or rearrange journeys

No Avanti West Coast trains will run on Saturday due to continuing strike action on the railways, bosses have announced with a warning to passengers. As a result, commuters are being advised to claim a refund, seek alternative transport or rearrange journeys.

The operator said ASLEF members would withdraw working overtime on 29 September, and between 2 to 6 October, as industrial action continues. "Customers with tickets for 30 September can claim a full fee-free refund from their point of purchase. Alternatively, tickets dated 30 September can be used on Friday 29 September or up to and including Tuesday 3 October.
