As of late Sunday afternoon, heavy snow has begun to fall in many areas across Ireland.Further falls of sleet and snow are expected on Sunday night, leading to further accumulations and slippery roads.
Those conditions should clear overnight according to Met Éireann, but it will turn icy more widely overnight. With snow falling on roads, both An Garda Síochána and AA Roadwatch have warned motorists to take extra caution while driving. "Challenging driving conditions in many parts of the country this afternoon due to snow falling," notes a Garda statement."Allow extra time for your journeys."
