The Watford midfielder scored a stunning goal to help his nation reach the quarter-finals of the Under-20 World Cup watfordfc

Watford midfielder Yaser Asprilla is not best known for his ability with his right foot but he used it to devastating effect as Colombia blitzed Slovakia with a second-half onslaught to reach the quarter-finals of the Under-20 World Cup with a 5-1 victory in Argentina.

The Hornets youngster has been in excellent form at the tournament and added to his goal against Japan in the group stage with a right-footed rocket from the edge of the penalty area after playing a one-two to double his nation’s lead at the start of the second half. Asprilla’s goal came in the 48th minute, two minutes after Oscar Cortes had opened the scoring, and two minutes before Tomas Angel also netted to make it three goals in four minutes after the restart.

Angel was on target again in the 63rd minute and although Timotej Jambor pulled one back three minutes from the end of normal time, Cortes was also able to double his tally in injury time. Colombia will now face Italy in the last eight on Saturday after they ended England’s hopes with a 2-1 victory.Goleada de Colombia frente a Eslovaquia y sella su clasificación a cuartos de final del Mundial Sub-20.
