A man is being praised after his wrong turn resulted in four people being rescued from extreme danger in Red Oak, Iowa.
A house fire was being recorded on the family’s Ring doorbell camera when Brendon Birt drove past and saw what was happening, ABC 6Birt exited his vehicle and began pounding on the windows in an effort to alert those inside which included three children and their 22-year-old brother.the flames crawling across the porch area as Birt approached the house.“Like every second that was going by it was just getting worse,” Birt recalled after the incident.
“I just felt like somebody was in there because it was so late at night, you know. I just knew I had to act quick,” he added.Smoke alarms were not going off.”Can’t stress the importance of working smoke alarms enough. Make sure yours are working, please.
