Penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama tells the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls.

After Part 1 of the drama stole viewers’ hearts this past summer, “Alchemy of Souls” is gearing up to return with Part 2—which will be set three years after Part 1—next month. The newly released teaser for Part 2 begins with Jang Wook hinting at the guilt and despair that has driven him to live in isolation. When a mysterious woman comes to visit Jang Wook, who has pushed everyone away and put up a wall between him and the world, he tells her dejectedly, “I wasn’t even able to protect the one person I promised to protect. How would I be able to protect anything?”
