Republican Ohio Senate candidate Jane Timken invoked the current transgender sports controversy, specifically transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, in her most recent campaign ad.
"As a mom and former college athlete, I know how important women’s sports are. They teach our girls to be winners," she said."But the Biden Democrats want to force our daughters to compete against men in the pool and on the court. It’s outrageous."
Timken further cited critical race theory as another piece of evidence that"the liberals are trying to destroy our country."This month, Lia Thomas made history as the first transgender athlete to win a Division I national title. Thomas, a biological male, beat every woman in the pool during the 500-yard freestyle race. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER
Timken faces a crowded primary field vying for the coveted Senate seat. Her competition includes investment banker Mike Gibbons, former state Treasurer Josh Mandel, and Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance.
