The fog should clear by about 10 a.m., forecasters said.

Forecasters are urging Wednesday morning commuters to take extra caution because of patches of freezing fog that could emerge on local roads.Visibility could drop to less than half a mile in some parts of the lower Susquehanna Valley, forecasters said. Icy spots could develop in parts of the midstate with temperatures at or just below freezing.

The freezing fog is most likely to appear in Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York, Lancaster, Franklin and Perry counties, according to the NWS. Forecasters said visibility will improve throughout the morning. In the meantime, drivers should slow down and leave plenty of room between themselves and the vehicles in front of them.
