Bryan Dobson has officially retired from RTE after 37 years with the national broadcaster, and presented his final news broadcast on RTE Radio 1 today.
The ovation was captured by Political Correspondent for RTÉ Paul Cunningham, who shared a video of the touching moment to X, previously known as Twitter. The broadcaster first joined RTÉ in 1987, and presented all of the station’s flagship news programmes.
