“And that chunk will increase in size until about – on the east coast a third , and on the west coast, half of the moon is covering the sun. But at that point, the sun sets.” Rain or shine, “it’s just about sharing the experience with other people,” said Chris Lomas from Gotham in the UK, who is staying at a sold-out trailer resort outside Dallas.The resulting twilight, with only the sun’s outer atmosphere or corona visible, could be long enough for birds and other animals to fall silent, and for planets, stars and maybe even a comet to become visible.
