Water main break causes flooding, forces road closure in north Vista neighborhood [Breaking]
Flooding from a broken water main led authorities to close a Vista road Wednesday — a closure expected to last overnight, a sheriff’s official said.
A resident in the area of Oak Drive and Monte Mar Road called 911 about 12:20 p.m. to report flooding, Lt. Scott Roller said. The area is a neighborhood of homes, mobile homes and multifamily units northeast of Foothill Drive and East Vista Way. At least two large apartment complexes along Oak are without water.
Vista Irrigation District spokesperson Alisa Nichols said the agency anticipates the water will be back on by 7:30 p.m. She also said crews are hoping to get the roadway reopen Wednesday. She said the broken water main was under the street. There was damage to the asphalt, but no reports of other property damage.Aerial
