The Blues stunned the champions with a superb display in Tallaght.

Blue Monday in Tallaght: a first away win in 19 years for Waterford over Shamrock Rovers, and another day of frustration for Hoops boss, Stephen Bradley.

So was the timing of their goals, each providing an injection of confidence when Waterford needed it most. They nearly retook the lead on 12 minutes, Conor Parsons shooting narrowly wide on that occasion, and then did make it 2-1 five minutes later, when McMenamy placed a 25-yard low shot beyond Pohls.
