This move aims to bolster Watford 's squad as they strive for Premier League promotion. The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland U21 international has made eight appearances for Udinese this season. The Pozzo family, who own both Watford and Udinese, played a role in facilitating the transfer.
Watford manager Tom Cleverley expressed his enthusiasm for Abankwah's arrival, highlighting his speed, physicality, and defensive qualities. Cleverley revealed that Udinese's manager was eager to retain Abankwah, but Watford believes he can make a significant contribution to their campaign.
