In planning documents, the Brighouses say that sheep breeding on the farm has expanded exponentially since 2020, with the flock currently standing at 400 breeding ewes, 40 rams and 400 lambs. The council said it was concerned that, once built, the barn would be used as a home rather than for sheep farming as the applicant claimed. A number of people on social media compared the Rooney home's design to a supermarket, such as this Morrisons in Sunderland A decision notice issued by Cheshire East Council states: 'Ongoing expansion of the business provides further justification for the requirement of additional storage capacity.
