Wayne Rooney has taken to Instagram to clear the air after a video allegedly showing him letting a woman into his apartment spread online. Rooney, who is currently managing Plymouth Argyle in Devon, is away from his wife Coleen and their kids. The video, which has now been viewed over two million times, allegedly showed Rooney, dressed casually in a baseball cap and tracksuit, seemingly opening his flat door while a woman was present. However, Wayne has now clarified the incident.
He emphatically stated on Instagram: 'I am aware of a video circulating online. The video shows a man and woman looking around my apartment. The couple kindly gave me a lift home and were in there at the same time as my son who was visiting.' He also said, 'Footage is from last summer. It is annoying that at least one online newspaper has chosen to edit the footage to make it appear as though a woman entered the apartment on her own. That is simply not true.' While battling through challenging times with only a handful of wins out of 25 games, Rooney is miles apart from his family who are staying at their sprawling six-bedroom £20 million Cheshire mansion. Plymouth find themselves at the bottom of the Championship, and after their 2-0 loss to Oxford on Sunday, there have been loud whispers about Wayne Rooney's future as manager. Addressing the speculation, Rooney admitted, 'I think you have to look at every possible outcome.
