Eisenhower’s Open Skies proposal showed the United Sates was interested in peace, and gave a starting point of dialogue to reduce the threat of nuclear war.

Not that we need anything more to worry about, but we still have the threat of nuclear weapons. There are close to 13,000 nukes in the world, most held by the U.S. and Russia. There is also the growing arsenal of China and the relatively newer one of North Korea. There is the potential of Iran joining the nuclear club as they have announced their capability of doing so. But we must remember the best way to prevent a catastrophic nuclear war: Diplomacy.
